Arcs and Central Angles

A central angle of a circle is an angle whose vertex is the center of the circle.  In the diagram, angle AOB is a central angle of the circle with center O:

If the measure of the angle is less than 180^o, then the points on the circle that are interior to the angle form a minor arc with endpoints A and B:

The other points on the circle form a major arc:
